ADConnector does not require extensive changes to your existing environment. In order to run ADConnector in your environment, you need the following prerequisites:

  • - Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain environment
  • - To install ADConnector: 64-bit server with Windows Server 2003, 2008 or 2008 R2
  • - For the Exchange module: Microsoft Exchange 2007 or Microsoft Exchange 2010
  • - For the Folder module: any drive on a server formatted as NTFS

The installation of ADConnector only needs about 10 MB of disk space and there is no need for a database system to be installed! It can be run on an existing server as well as a separate application. A small schema update is required, in order to save some additional attributes for users and groups in Active Directory for the user recognition. This can be done by running the included “AD Preparation Utility”.
